Q: How do I register for the TechSelector IAN?
A: Just fill out the Registration form in the Partner area. We will review your application and reply with your acceptance status within a few hours. TOP
Q: What do I have to do to make the TechSelector Interactive Ad show up on my site?
A: When you have registered as a partner, you can log in to the partner area and choose what you would like to show up on your site. You can use the code generator in your account area to generate a short snippet of code which you can simply paste into your website. That’s it! TOP
Q: What will show up on my page when I paste the code on my website?
A: You have several different options on what you’d like to display on your site through the TechSelector Interactive ads. You can display any one, several, or all of our product category buying guides. You can display a version that is embedded in your page, or you can display a smaller icon which when rolled over will display the system with those product categories that you have selected. TOP
Q: When you say I can serve my own ads, what does that mean and why is it beneficial to me??
A: Well, this is one of the really cool things about the TechSelector IAN. In most partner programs, you either use a complicated API system to display content from your partner, or you have to use a dual branded page. Dual branded pages are set up to look like your site, but actually sit on the partner’s server. So, for example, TheFind.com has a program where you can set up dual branded pages. The problem is that you don’t have control over the advertising, advertising rates, and ultimately the revenue that you receive from your traffic running through those pages. As well, if you use an advertising network, you can’t display your ads on any other site than your own. With the TechSelector IAN program, you can display our system and benefit from our PPC sharing, AND serve your own ads around it on your own website. Remember too that the advertising space around the system is highly targeted, so you can charge more for that space. So, we provide the space around the system on your site for you to design, you post your ads, and you keep the revenues from those ads yourself. We don’t ask for any kind of a revenue share from that advertising. What we are really doing is increasing your targeted ad space and giving you new PPC revenue at the same time. TOP
Q: Can I click through the system myself?
A: Sure, you can go through the system yourself. We ask that you do not click any of the paid listings from retailers however, unless you are acting as a user on your own site and are truly interested in purchasing the product that you click through to. Excessive clicking by certain IP addresses may be blocked. If the interactive ads on your site are producing extremely low conversion ratios (browsers to buyers) then we will also have to investigate the origins of clickthroughs. Click fraud is extremely frowned upon here at TechSelector, so if you engage in it, your account may be canceled… Bottom line, just let the system do the work for you. TOP
Q: How do I use the referral program?
A: When you log in as a registered partner, you will be given access to different types of “tagged” links that you may post anywhere within your sites. When you direct people through those tagged links to the registration area and they end up registering, we track that new partner as having been referred by you. As such, we will give you 10% of whatever we make from that partner for the entire year!! TOP
Q: How do I know when I have referred someone?
A: When you log into the partner area on techselector.com, you will be given reports that show all of your results including forecasted revenues for the month to date, pageviews, etc. In addition, you will be given reports that show the number of referrals you have brought into the program, and your share of those referred accounts results as well so that you can keep up to date with it. TOP
Q: I have heard that in PPC advertising programs, what you see in your daily reports isn’t always what you earn at the end of the month,
is that true?
A: Yes, this happens with any proper PPC advertising system because click fraud can be a huge problem. So there is an auditing process to weed out those fraudulent clicks. As well, our advertising partners pay us and ultimately you for quality traffic, so if poor traffic (ie- traffic that is not converting well) is sent, then lower PPC rates are paid to us and you.
