Epson Perfection V700

The Epson Perfection V700 is the type of scanner that you are going to get if slide or negative scanning is one of your main tasks.  If you are looking for a cheap, simple scanning solution, then the v700 probably isn’t for you.  It is pricy, but there are definitely legitimate reasons for the price.  This model makes some fantastic scans, but it is really suited for high quality negative and slide scanning.

The form factor (design) is fairly chunky, with sharp edges.  It is also fairly large at about 20 inches long and a foot wide, so I would suggest finding a separate area to keep it.  The scans are excellent quality from original documents or images.  The v700 comes with holders for negatives and slides.  While your not going to be able to do hundreds of slides at a time, you should still be able to get some really quality scans of your slides/negatives.

Its going to be slow going, as there is no automatic feeder at all.  There is only the flat panel scanning surface, however this should be sufficient.  I think that anyone who is going to go for this scanner is certainly looking for quality and not quantity.
